Week 13 Waiver Wire

Week 14, for some teams this means playoffs have started and for others we're 1 week out.  It's been fun this year and as we're getting closer to the end of the season, I hope everyone has enjoyed my content. I'm hoping I was able to play a small part in navigating your season. I'm not going anywhere, I'll be providing you help every step of the way. A big note, do keep a close eye out on people contracting COVID, I expect to see more people to pop up on this list.

Teams on bye: Colts, Miami, New England, Philly

Players with COVID: Keenan Allen

Quarterbacks

  • Cam Newton vs ATL (29% rostered)

I think it's pretty obvious on why, Cam is going to be the favorite add this week. He's playing a bottom tier defense, coming off his bye in his 2nd stint with Carolina, also under a new regime with Jeff Nixon being promoted to Offensive Coordinator - I'm expecting to see Cam out there having fun and being a catalyst in bringing you into the playoffs.

Others to consider: Taysom Hill (34% rostered)
Players to avoid: Davis Mills, Trevor Lawrence
Droppable: Tyrod Taylor

Runningbacks

  • Dontrell Hillard vs JAX (41% rostered)
  • Tevin Coleman vs NO (41% rostered)
  • Boston Scott BYE (41% rostered)

Hillard is my top option as he's provided a breath of fresh air to Titans fans all over after losing Henry. Hillard, seemingly, came out of nowhere for this team alongside teammate; D'Onta Foreman. This tandem did amass 240 rushing yards against a red-hot Patriots team, I'm expecting more of the same against a lowly Jacksonville team, who's still trying to establish their identity. Coming off their bye, this seems like a premiere opportunity for Hillard to help get the Titans back into the win column. Ever since Michael Carter has been out, it was assumed, at least by myself, that Ty Johnson would get the majority of the carries. It hasn't appear to be the case with Coleman getting the bulk of the carries. He's not been as explosive or exciting as Michael Carter, but the Jets definitely trust him more than the latter. Do note that Michael Carter will be back and resume his role, but Coleman should be rostered until then. Here's likely a league winner - Boston Scott - he was relegated to an emergency back this week after missing practice all week. I'm seeing he'll likely benefit from another Miles Sanders injury, as well if Jordan Howard continues to miss time; all signs point to Scott getting more playing time. He is on bye this week, so you may be able to scoop him up without placing a waiver.

Others to consider: Kenneth Gainwell (12% rostered)
If they are still there: Mike Davis (47% rostered) Rhamondre Stevenson (61% rostered)
Drop Candidates: Kenyan Drake (Injury) Chase Edmonds (Injured; likely won't get much run
Players I'm avoiding: Any Bills RB

Wide Receivers

  • Jalen Guyton v NYG (0% rostered)
  • Russell Gage@ CAR (35% rostered)
  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling v CHI (20% rostered)

Guyton is my number 1 because Keenan Allen has COVID - that's my reasoning. He would've been under my others to consider, but with Keenan likely out, it's going to be a good idea to pick up Guyton. I've been a big fan of Guyton since last year. He can absolutely fly, he reminds of the big play ability Desean Jackson used to bring every week - he hadn't been involved much this year, especially with Josh Palmer emerging, but this past week was a bit more involved. He even "Mossed" Jesse Bates in route to a 44 yard touchdown. Russell Gage, I had a great feeling about him this past week and this feeling turned out to be correct as he was targeted 12 times and turned this into 11 catches for 130 yards. We all know Tampa Bay's secondary is weak to put it nicely, but this was a great sign from him after teasing break out games. He has another decent matchup with Carolina up next, I can't say we'd see another 11 catch game, but it's not out of the question to see his usual line! It appears that Aaron Rodgers has finally realized there's other people to throw to than Davante Adams. He's recently been targeting MVS more often; targeting him 19 times, granted this has only churned out 8 catches - he's being targeted on their big plays. Here's another opportunity for Rodgers to own Chicago, so I expect him to look to make this defense look silly - expect to see WR3/low WR2 numbers from MVS this week.

Others to consider: KJ Osborn (4% rostered) Amon-Ra St. Brown (6% rostered)
If they're still there: Devante Parker (52% rostered) AJ Green (44% rostered)
Players I'm avoiding: Brandon Aiyuk, Christian Kirk
Drop Candidates: Kenny Golladay, Courtland Sutton

Tight Ends

  • Tyler Conklin vs PIT (30% rostered)

In light of Thielen's injury, Conklin is going to see an uptick in his targets. That said, this could be split with Osborn, as it was earlier in the year. He definitely offers a good streaming option for this week if you've got: Goedert, Hunter Henry or Geisicki. Conklin will definitely need touchdowns to keep his fantasy relevance in this role, but he's likely to be the featured redzone option with Thielen out.

Drop Candidates: Logan Thomas (Injury)
