Week 15 Waiver Wire

It is playoff time! We've made it here, hopefully everyone had a successful season. It's a bittersweet that we've made it here, as this highlights the closing of fantasy football for another year. I love bringing you weekly assists to help aid you to the ultimate goal. Let's keep it going!

Quarterbacks

  • Jimmy G vs ATL (30% rostered)

I'll admit, we saw a bit of an improvement from ATLs defense, as they kept pounding away at Cam, eventually, forcing them to bench him (once again). That said, the 49ers are coming alive finally winning 4 of their last 5; with an inconsistent run game and losing Deebo for a few games. Jimmy has benefited from his athletic freak WR core in: Kittle, Aiyuk and Samuel. They're coming off an OT victory against an equally impressive Bengal team, expect them to easily handle ATL.

Others to consider: Taysom Hill (51% rostered)
Players to avoid: Taylor Heinicke

Runningbacks

  • Rashaad Penny at LAR (21% rostered)
  • Royce Freeman at JAX (0% rostered)

Is...is it time, Rashaad Penny szn?! Perhaps so? Penny had a monster game and propelled some into the playoffs following this performance going for 137 yards on 16 carries for 2 touchdowns. He's always been the superior back in the Seattle backups, he'll hold excellent value shooting you the rest of the way through the playoffs, if you're need a RB or strong flex, Penny is the man. He is going up against the stout LAR defense, but he's still a must add this week. I'm adding Freeman because he's one of my favorite RBs for the Texans next to Burkhead. He had a seemingly more efficient game and preferred passing back, that should give him some run. Texans match up against the equally disappointing Jaguars, he may be worth a desperation play if you invest in Gaskin or Swift late in the season.

Others to consider: Boston Scott/Kenneth Gainwell vs WAS (22%/13% rostered)
If they are still there: Mike Davis (52% rostered)
Drop Candidates: Tony Pollard (injury)
Players I'm avoiding: All Miami RBs (COVID protocols)

Wide Receivers

  • Amon-Ra St Brown v ARI (12% rostered)
  • K.J. Osborn at CHI (38% rostered)

I stated this before the season ARSB was going to be the WR1 for the Lions, whether by default or not, he's still an excellent WR. It seems Goff has finally realized this as well sending him 24 targets in the last 2 games, expect more of this volume moving forward, he's garnering WR3 production consideration, he's worth at least the stash for weeks 16/17. Osborn has benefited from Thielen's untimely injury, and I expect that to remain. Given that Minnesota doesn't play until Monday, it's very strong possibility that Thielen could be ready to go, but if not Osborn needs to be rostered until further clarification.

Others to consider: Gabriel Davis v CAR (3% rostered) A.J. Green at DET (40% rostered)
If they're still there: Russell Gage @ SF (52% rostered)
Players I'm avoiding: Allen Robinson (still not producing) Jamison Crowder (flopped)
Drop Candidates: Emmanuel Sanders (injury) Antonio Brown (suspension)

Tight Ends

  • Austin Hooper vs LV (41% rostered)

Hooper was a bit of a dart throw, in some areas, but was the bulls-eye we needed. Currently, in terms of availability, he's the only TE I'd concern taking a chance on - mainly, for those missing Hockenson.

Drop Candidates: Hunter Henry (production)
