Week 16 Waiver Wire

How's everyone doing? Panicking yet? Playoff time and COVID is running rampant. Don't worry I'm right there with you guys! Let's bring it home.

  • Jared Goff at ATL (7% rostered)

Yes, Goff. I realize he's currently on COVID protocols, but in the event he's cleared, he's a smash start; after a 3 TD performance against the (then #1-ranked) Arizona team, facing the Falcons is cake!

If he can't go, Justin Fields would be the best pivot option (streaming wise). Also against a bottoming defense in Seattle; he's available in 74% of Yahoo leagues!

Players to avoid: Drew Lock

  • Ronald Jones at CAR (35% rostered)
  • Justin Jackson at HOU (6% rostered)

Injuries and COVID strike again! To make matters worse in Tom Brady's first home shutout was that he lost his top WRs: Godwin and Evans, as well as his workhorse RB: Fournette. Arians suggested early Monday that Jones is the lead back and it appears will be in for the lions share of the touches, he should be first on priority pickups. Next, Justin Jackson, with Ekeler popping up on the COVID protocols, he's in for a very favorable matchup with the Texans. He's still startable even with Ekeler in the lineup, as Ekeler is dealing with injuries, but giving him the week off would make Justin Jackson a MUST start.

Players to drop: Mike Davis
Players I'm avoiding: Duke Johsnon and the Quartet of Eagles RBs

Wide Receivers

  • Amon-Ra St Brown v ATL (30% rostered)
  • Gabriel Davis vs NE (19% rostered)

To preface, both of these options were options I included last week that have another opportunity to show what they got. We're finally seeing ARSB come alive, again benefitting from no Swift and Hockenson, but as a fantasy manager I'll take it. He's got a juicy matchup against ATL; with Goff on protocols, it'll be interesting how he'll fair if Goff misses, but either way, he's a must pick up. Gabriel Davis has stepped up for Emmanuel Sanders. He 2 of his 5 catches were touchdowns, he's got nice value down the stretch. A tall task in the Patriots awaits, but if they can get in the redzone, expect to see another one of these performances from Davis.

Drop Candidates: Courtland Sutton, DeAndre Hopkins, Chris Godwin

Tight Ends

  • Cole Kmet at SEA (25% rostered)

...and we're back to Kmet. I'm such a Kmet truther, so this drives me nuts. I want to see him get more touches as he's a special TE, but it just seems to fluctuate. Surely, there's more to be seen from Kmet when injuries and COVID are running amuck. I'm penciling him as a decent streaming option with Seattle up next.
