Week 6 Waiver Wire
How we doing folks? I don't know about you all, but this past weekend was just amazing for sports. College Football chaos, high profile boxing and capping it off with an amazing Monday Night Football match.
Teams on bye: Atlanta, Saints, Jets and 49ers
- Teddy Bridgewater vs LV (18% rostered)
- Taylor Heinicke vs KC (16% rostered)
- Carson Wentz vs HOU (14% rostered)
Teddy "2 gloves" certainly gave us a scare, I was worried so much that I forgot to put him back in a lineup. He played decently well in the 2nd half of the Pittsburgh game, it's hard to see him having a rough day against Vegas. He's definitely a QB2 or Superflex option. Heinicke, at the moment, isn't the best streaming option, but against a KC team that is consistently getting shredded, this definitely boosts his value going into this matchup. Big Carson looked very good against a stout Baltimore defense, who were made to look lost at points. He's a very strong play against a very porous Houston team, who's still searching for their first win.
Others to consider: Tua Tagovailoa (15% rostered)
Players to avoid: Geno Smith, Davis Mills, Daniel Jones
- Alex Collins @ PIT (37% rostered)
- Darrel Williams @ WAS (18% rostered)
- Devontae Booker vs LAR (7% rostered)
.This year has heavily favored 0RB strategies due to all the injuries mounting up. You can add: Barkley, Carson and CEH to this list. In my opinion, Alex Collins played very well in replacement of Carson. This was against a top rated run defense as well. I'm rostering him while he's still available. Darrel Williams, as well, played pretty decent in the relief for CEH. One thing that Darrel offers that Collins doesn't is the PPR, as Dallas/Homer eat into Collins pass catching downs. It's very likely that Darrel will be a top add this week especially in a high powered offense. It is a bit disappointing to see that Barkley was hurt and down again - a bit of freak accident too. That said, Booker has been one of my elite handcuffs since start of season. He does have a tough matchup against the Rams, he did have a full workload as he was needed to be focal point with the ever mounting injuries for the Giants, this should continue next week.
Others to consider: Khalil Herbert (19% rostered), Chris Evans (2% rostered)
If they are still there: AJ Dillon (66% rostered), Michael Carter (54% rostered)
Drop Candidates: Trey Sermon, Kenyan Drake
Players I'm avoiding: Rhamondre Stevenson, David Johnson
- Kadarius Toney vs LAR (38% rostered)
- Amon-Ra St. Brown vs CIN (27% rostered)
- Tim Patrick vs LV (31% rostered)
Toney looked like his old Florida self this past weekend. Going for 183 yards and catches, while he did get ejected for throwing a punch in a skirmish late in the game, his talent cannot be denied. With Golladay ruled out already, Shepard and Slayton still recovering from hammy injuries and Barkley going down, Judge will have no choice but to give Toney opportunities. This is one of my favorite players going into the season, I truly believe by EOS, he'll be the Lions WR1, but for now he's finally seeing volume. Like Toney, this is primarily happening due to injuries: Tyrell/Cephus, but this is a good thing as the Lions have a real gem with St. Brown, pick him up quickly before it's too late. Lastly, Tim Patrick, I was worried about Teddy B being out this week, which made any place I rostered Patrick an instant sit - I think Teddy B raises Patrick's game, while Jeudy is still out, Patrick is definitely a player to roster.
Others to consider: Mecole Hardman (43% rostered), Dyami Brown (1% rostered)
If they're still there: Hunter Renfrow (45% rostered) Darnell Mooney (45% rostered)
Players I'm avoiding: TY Hilton, Josh Gordon, Deonte Harris
Drop Candidates: Juju (Injury) Cephus (injury) Laviska Shenault (production)
- Evan Engram vs LAR (31% rostered)
- Dan Arnold vs MIA (4% rostered)
I'm pretty happy that my main guys: Schultz and Knox are now significantly rostered (over 80%) that they don't need me to try to boost their value. Don't worry I still am sifting through the rubble looking for more gems. Engram, like Toney, will "benefit" from the mounting injuries to the WR core for the Giants, he's still a very strong and athletic player, he definitely has starting value until the Giants WRs can come back. My sneaky TE add is Dan Arnold, if you caught a glimpse of O'Shaunessy prior to his injury, he was someone Trevor Lawrence was steady relying on. I felt that JAX trade for Arnold was to give TLaw another athletic big man that he could throw to when he was in trouble, coming away from this matchup with 6 catches on 8 targets with 64 yards makes me feel real good about Arnold moving forward.
Drop Candidates: Jared Cook, Robert Tonyan, Austin Hooper
